Gold rises on North Korea nuclear tests

Gold futures closed higher in the domestic market on Tuesday as nervousness over North Korea’s weekend nuclear display, weakness in the dollar and broad losses in U.S. equities combined to push futures higher.The strong gain came after North Korea on Sunday conducted a sixth and significantly larger hydrogen-bomb test.At the MCX, gold futures for October 2017 contract ended at Rs 30220 per 10 grams, up by 0.38 per cent, after opening at Rs 30,178 against a previous close of Rs 30,105. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 30,243.
