Crude oil rises as OPEC deal extension likely

Crude oil futures closed higher in the domestic market on Monday as traders weighed prospects for an extension to the OPEC-led production cut agreement and expectations for U.S. crude output. The general news out of Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries continues to prove price supportive, with the cartel still leaning towards a deal extension.At the MCX, crude oil futures for September 2017 contract closed at Rs 3208 per barrel, up by 0.53 per cent, after opening at Rs 3209, against a previous close of Rs 3191. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 3226.
