Gold dips on gain in US equity stocks

Gold futures closed lower in the domestic market on Monday as gains in stocks and other assets perceived as risky lured investors away from the haven metal.Strength in the dollar tends to dull demand for dollar-priced gold from investors using another currency.At the MCX, gold futures for August 2017 contract ended at Rs 28495 per 10 grams, down by 0.83 per cent, after opening at Rs 28,450 against a previous close of Rs 28,734. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 28,350.
