Gold flat as investors weigh US fiscal policy agenda

Gold futures closed flat in the domestic market on Tuesday as investors weighed the outlook for the Trump administration’s fiscal-policy agenda following last week’s failed effort at overhauling the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare.
Traders will continue to eye U.S. economic data for hints on the pace and timing of interest-rate hikes by the Federal Reserve.
At the MCX, gold futures for April 2017 contract ended at Rs 28794 per 10 grams, down by 0.05 per cent, after opening at Rs 28,799 against a previous close of Rs 28,807. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 28,760.
