Crude oil rises on decline in US crude supply

Crude oil futures closed higher in the domestic market on Wednesday as an eighth consecutive weekly decline in U.S. crude supplies lifted oil prices.Energy traders also eyed developments tied to Tropical Depression Harvey and its potential to disrupt oil and gas activity in the Gulf of Mexico. The National Hurricane Center warned that the storm could become a hurricane on Friday.At the MCX, crude oil futures for August 2017 contract closed at Rs 3111 per barrel, up by 1.27 per cent, after opening at Rs 3073, against a previous close of Rs 3072. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 3116.
